All you wanted was a job to pay the bills - but responding to a Pastry Chef position on Ind**d instead transported you to a weird and colourful kitchen where you have to... pass a job interview? Talk to strange characters and don’t get lost exploring this crazy new world. And good luck on getting the job!
Untitled Chef Game was my Final Major Project for my Illustration B.A. Starting with zero experience in coding, and very little knowledge of pixel art, I pushed myself to learn. Interactibility in art is very important to me and I believe games are a fantastic way to engage the audience in your artwork.
Exhibiting this piece, I wanted to keep that level of immersion you get when playing a game. I recreated the kitchen - the central hub of the game, into my exhibiton space. I did so pixel by pixel - using SO much masking tape.
